CVOR Registered Nurse – Contract Assignment

Position Summary

Cone Health is seeking an experienced CVOR Registered Nurse with advanced open heart operating room skills. Candidates must be able to scrub open heart cases and meet all required qualifications. This is a high-acuity role with strict compliance and scheduling expectations. First-time travelers will only be considered if they have prior open heart OR experience.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience
• Open heart OR experience (must be able to scrub)
• ACLS and BLS certifications
• ECMO, LVAD, and Impella experience
• Epic charting system proficiency
• Travel experience (unless candidate has open heart OR experience)
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Circulating and scrubbing experience
• Chest tube insertion/removal
• Intra-aortic balloon pump
• TAVR procedures
• Surgical wound care with drains/Wound Vac
• Robotic experience in chest cases (e.g., lobectomy, segmentectomy)
  
  

Surgical Procedures

• CABG
• Mitral, Tricuspid, and Aortic valve repair/replacement
• Aortic dissections
• Pericardial window
• Thoracotomies
• VATS
• Minimally invasive valve procedures

Scheduling & Call Requirements

• Call required with 30-minute response time (non-negotiable)
• No block scheduling
• One pre-approved time-off request allowed
• Orientation: 0 hours
